Vilnius City Tour & Trakai Castle
Vilnius – the capital of Lithuania, situated on the bank of the Neris River, was founded in 1323 when Grand Duke Gediminas built a castle there. Today this is one of the landmarks of the city with a population of nearly 600.000. It is a bustling city with one of the oldest and most charming Old Towns in Europe. The splendid architectural blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles makes this wonderful city to explore.

There are 30 lakes in the region. Trakai Castle & Museum of 14th century (in the middle of Lake Galvė) is the only insular castle throughout Eastern Europe. Island castle is one of the most often visited historical-architectural monuments in Lithuania. Trakai is also home to the Karaites, a Turkic ethnic group practicing a religion akin to Judaism, who came to Lithuania from the Crimea in the 14th century as warriors for Grand Duke Vytautas. Today the country’s smallest ethnic minority counts under 300 members.
