The author concludes that the possibilities for using performance measurement are very wide, but this process requires specific knowledge, unconditional support of top management and the understanding that not in all cases performance measurement is helpful to improve the effectiveness of performance. Furthermore, performance measurement is possible only if an appropriate performance measurement system is established.
