Supply of material resources to business enterprises
is one of the main factors of production.
In the course of organization of output of production,
enterprises face selection of supply strategy,
calculation of needs for materials, formation of necessary
inventories, planning of purchases and delivery
organization. In order to settle the matters, theoretical
knowledge is required that allows enterprises
to purchase material resources on beneficial terms,
with proper selection of supply sources, particular
suppliers and delivery ways.
The textbook is intended to supply logistics of
the field of general logistics, i.e. activity related to
supply of material resources required for fulfillment
of production program and maintenance needs, at
internal and foreign markets with use of logistic means.
Supply logistics renders assistance in search of
companies for supply goals under balancing them
with financial resources of the company, balancing
of production capacities of the company with possibilities
of suppliers and that of the market.
The author presents some discreet classification
according to the type of production, character
of logistic operations, functional purposes and other
features, surveys discreet managerial patterns, studies
purchases as one of the main functions of supply
logistics, centralized and decentralized forms of purchase,
supplier selection criteria.
Three chapters of the textbook are devoted to
the international supply logistics, the author reveals
it’s peculiarities, forms of the international supply,
studies organization and legal regulation of freight
delivery and carriage by international roads there.
Much attention was drawn to making of storage
supplies of materials and records thereof, storage of
freight at warehouses of international supply.
The textbook is intended for students of subjects
of business management, economics as well as logistics.
The edition may be useful for businessmen
connected with supply of material resources to companies,
management and business organization.
